Museum moments.

We spent Tuesday at the Museum and had an absolute blast! Darcy & Mia especially loved the Dinosaurs, while Cooper loves anything about the dynamics of the human body.

We went to see the Bee Circus. It was GREAT! Very, very talented people. They told the story of the life of a bee, and the pecking order in which they live. It was very entertaining!

The upper body strength of one of the guys there was pretty impressive. His muscles were.....nice. lol!!

The kids had heaps of fun playing with a soft puzzle of the human body. Cooper was very anal about making sure it will went in the right spot ROFL!!

We caught the train into the CBD and grabbed a bite to eat.

After spending an hour at the gift shop while Darcy faints at the great wall of Prehistorics, we choose a small thing each, pay, and head home, buggered.

Stay tuned. Next week we tackle the mysteries of the Melbourne Zoo, ROFL!!

Mia, smile for Mama...

I was playing around with the POS camera I own, and I said to Mia "Mia, smile for Mama bubby..." and this is the pose she flashed me:

Such a little poser. I just wish I could adjust the DOF, the white balance etc ON the camera, because I'm useless when it comes to doing it in Photoshop lol!!

Holiday randoms...

My Mum, Dad and Sister went camping, and the kids and I decided to head up for a surprise dinner (BBQ) and a visit.

God I hate camping.

Mums Patrol behind the fire.

Darcy running around. This kid was in her element camping. The dirtier she got, the more fun she had. She's a bug kid, and was picking up bugs all day.

My wagon, otherwise known as the "Funbus" lol

Darcy visiting the fairy garden.

Mia also visited the fairy garden a few times, lol!!

Throwing warm camp water around seemed to be Mia's favourite activity.

A panoramic I took of our campsite. Although I really, REALLY hate this little POS camera I have, this function of it is way cool!

My little noodle girl...

Mia has only had noodles once or twice, and that wasn't recently.

The older 2 were having them, and Mia had a look, and decided she wanted some too.

I put some in a bowl, sat her up, and watched her eyes nearly fall out of her head, lol!!

Oh, and she decided using a fork wasn't any fun, so we went the slurpy slurpy ha ha!!

Little darlin'. She then turned to me, and shouts "More No-Noos Mama!"

Oh, and just quietly, the calendar says she's 2 next month. My theory is Hallmark are f**king with my mind, and she is REALLY only one.

Yes, I blame Hallmark.

Twins, Basil...

Our cat of 2 years went missing before Christmas. Although microchipped, he has failed to show up. We (well, Jase lol) still lives in hope that he will return. And no, I had nothing to do with it, so don't blame me, ROFL!!

Until then, may I introduce our newest members to the family:

They are deaf Sisters, and the most amazing cats I've ever come across. They are so loyal, so loveable, and cry out whenever one can't see you.

We went to to Warrandyte vets and asked what they had, and they said they just got in a litter they found dumped across the road in the Yarra River, tied up in a garbage bag! Now, I'd be the first one to admit my dislike for cats, but geez, I wanted to take the whole litter home!! What kind of mogrel does that?!?!?!

These little girls are just the sweetest. They do everything together. We initially only got one (which has one blue eye, one green) and she seemed miserable, always crying and needing to be held, so I thought getting her Sister might help, so went back a few days later and picked her up (she has 2 green eyes, it's how we tell them apart, lol)

So far, they are known as Kitty and Kitty, ROFL! Cooper is calling them the "Hardy Sisters", after 2 of his favourite wrestlers, the Hardy Boyz. One (the original) has taken to Darcy, and follows her everywhere, the other, Cooper. They sleep with their attached kitten, and if one kitten gets up during the night, it starts yelling out for someone to come and pick it up (I guess because they're deaf, right?).

So there they are. You've met Kitty and Kitty. The sweetest, most adorable little kittens in the world.

So much for updating...

Lets try again.

I'm determined to keep this updated, mainly for Uncle Mark and Maria over in the US! I can't wait to see you guys in Feb. Maria, I can't wait to meet you and get some advice! My ultimate dream is to be able to run a triathalon, so any advice would be GREAT!

CHRISTMAS - I'm so glad to see the backside of Christmas. Although relaxing on the actual day, the hype and leadup to it is just a month long headache for me. I try to enjoy it, and I'm in the spirit for around 8.7hrs, but in all honesty, I don't enjoy the festive season, moreso this year.

This is my baby girl Mia, at 22 months, on Christmas Day:

Mia was rushed to hospital Christmas Eve. She had what I thought was a normal bout of gastro 2 days previous, but over the course of those days got steadily worse. The day before Christmas Eve she was sleeping up to 20hrs a day, keeping NOTHING down, and just was not herself. I listened to my gut and took her to A & E, only to be told it's gastro. The gave her some Gastrolite she picked up, and they sent us home. An hour later, the gastrolite had come back up, and she was on the floor crying.

I put her to bed, and all the night hardly slept. I felt uneasy. Something just wasn't right. I rang

Nurse On Call

and had a chat to a lovely lady, and she said it's just gastro too, and to keep up the fluids and gastrolite, and not try to feed her.

Christmas Eve morning when Mia woke, I got her out of bed, and she collapsed. She couldn't even stand anymore. Scared and emotional, I rushed her to the hospital again and demanded blood tests and fluids.

Upon admission we were down to 9.3kg! When stripped down, she was skin and bones. I just sobbed and sobbed. I felt like (and still do!) I had failed her. I had to wait until she was skin and bones and unable to stand until I became assertive in seeking help. She was (and still is!) all skin and bones. We managed to get up to 10.3kg by the end of Boxing Day when we were discharged. The Paed said that although her condition isn't bad, because she was such a petite thing to begin with, the consequences are more severe, and will be with any illness she gets, because she's so small it knocks her for 6!. We were diagnosed with

Rotavirus

and the Paed said if I'd left it another day or two, it could've easilly taken her life.

Apparently now we have antibodies built up for Rotavirus, and should she ever get it again, it won't be so severe.

We celebrated Christmas on Boxing Day, and although still miserable, Mia managed to eat some vegies and walk around a bit, but spent most of the day sitting and watching:

And here we are a week later, back to our usual, energetic self:

THAT was an experience I hope to never go through again.
